Underwater Photography Course
Have you ever dreamed of capturing images of the underwater world? Whether you're a diver with a passion for the ocean or simply curious about what lies below, this beginner-friendly course is your perfect starting point. Designed for those with little to no underwater photography experience, you'll learn the essential skills to confidently handle a camera underwater, understand lighting and composition, and start creating stunning images from your very first dive.
This course is hosted by Vanessa Torres Macho, known in the underwater community for her award-winning images. Whether it’s wildlife, wrecks, the small things or lifestyle shots, we have you covered.
Who is this course for?
You are complete novice or would like to make the move from auto to manual mode
You want to understand what’s the next step to make your photos pop and take them to the next level
You’re looking at adding some lighting to your system
You want to create your unique view of the underwater world
You’re a certified scuba diver (current within the last 6 months)
What will you learn:
How to maximise your current setup
How to read your environment to get the best possible image
Composition and lighting
Review and debrief
Post-processing in Lightroom
What’s included:
Two days of training
Theory: please allow enough time to complete this prior to the course. At Aquatic Imaging Australia we have put together a current manual with relevant information.
Face to face instruction with dry drills and classroom time
Diving and post processing
If you don’t own a camera contact us for rental options or guidance in getting your own setup, we have a great selection at our store.
Prerequisites
The minimum age to participate is 12 years old (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old.)
Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent certification from another recognised certification agency.
You must be cleared as medically fit to dive by completing a Medical Statement prior to your course starting. If any questions are flagged as "Yes" you need to gain medical clearance from a doctor. Please ensure you complete this Medical Statement before the start of your course.
