6th to 16th November 2026
Tufi | Papua New Guinea | Tufi Dive Resort
Welcome to your next holiday retreat with Vanessa from Aquatic Imaging Australia, an expedition that will see you immersed in crystal clear blue water and Papua New Guinean culture.
Tufi Dive Resort, located in Oro Province, is nestled in a breathtaking fjord with stunning views of the ocean, fjords and mountains.
The adventure begins by flying directly into the island via Tropicair’s private check in at the airport, the views from the plane are out of this world, mountains to one side and ocean on the other. Once we land you will be greeted by their friendly staff and warm weather. The resort includes a terraced bbq area, private pool with views of the fjords, lounge bar and library. The main building is of colonial design surrounded by lush trees, nature and different areas to just relax.
The accommodation is a bungalow style room featuring a queen and single bed, polished timber floors, insect screens, aircon, hot water, ensuite, bar fridge, coffee and tea making facilities. Each bungalow has a balcony overlooking the Coral sea or fjords; this place will make all your daily stresses seem a million miles away.
Full laundry services are also available and can be arranged at the resort.
All meals are included which consist of continental breakfast, lunch and a three course dinner. The chefs do an incredible job merging fresh seasonal mainland and local produce with western cuisine.
We have included as well a range of activities and tours that will immerse you in their culture and traditions.

Diving Tufi
Tufi offers a wide variety of diving opportunities and paired with its warm waters and fantastic visibility will suit any type of diver. Diving beautiful Tufi includes vast walls covered by countless fish and hard and soft corals. October and November has some of the best diving; the water is calmer, clearer and slightly cooler which brings some of the larger animals in.
Upon arrival, the first thing that will strike you is the location of the marina, right in the heart of the fjords. Their main diving boat is a fully equipped vessel with comfortable tank racks and space to move around.
The outer reefs offer outstanding visibility, exceeding 30m and an array of the most colourful corals and sponges. Look into the blue and you can be rewarded by larger pelagic fish such as sharks, barracudas and schooling fish. The hardest decision will be choosing whether it will be a wide angle or macro day, since opportunities are endless.
The protected fjords offer excellent conditions for diving and snorkeling, while the outer reefs feature bommies that rise from depths of up to 600 meters, offering the opportunity to capture a wide range of subjects.

Underwater Photography Workshop
Learn the art of capturing remarkable images during eight days of diving and adventure. This expedition will allow you to progress and finesse your creativity and technique.
For those jumping on the photography train, this expedition will begin with a phone or face to face consultation with Vanessa; a quick healthcheck on your gear and comfort shooting underwater.
Before departing and for those in Sydney, we include a half day dry workshop which will provide you with practical techniques. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how to make your current setup work for you and get those desired images. Stop, think and shoot followed by review and applying feedback.
Throughout the expedition there will be opportunities to review images and plan ahead to get the most out of every dive. We know the struggle, we promise, we have been there before.
Visit the fjords on a private cruise and enjoy the breathtaking views and landscapes
