Komodo | Indonesia | Kalimaya Dive Resort

Located in the heart of the coral triangle, Indonesia has some of the greatest marine biodiversity in the world. For this, Kalimaya Dive Resort is perfectly located to provide next level diving year round. At Kalimaya Dive Resort you can enjoy three distinct types of diving: macro/muck diving, current diving and coral diving. All this on the doorstep of Komodo National Park.

Indonesia has more species of fish and corals than any other region in the world and the Komodo archipelago is one of the richest marine environments in Indonesia. In the north of Komodo, warm water flows from the Banda Sea providing clearer tropical waters and pristine hard coral reefs. To the south, cool water flows from the Indian Ocean and deep water upwelling's bring masses of plankton providing nutrient rich waters to feed soft coral polyps, other invertebrates, reef fish and pelagic.

Whilst diving in Komodo does come with its challenges (the waters surrounding the islands are current prone and surrounded by turbulent eddies) you will be rewarded by exciting diving. Dive sites vary from rock pinnacles and walls with dense coverage of soft and hard corals, sponges and prolific fish life, to fringing reefs, sea mounts and channels where you can find manta rays feeding on the plankton rich waters.

Your trip would not be complete without an island visit to see the Komodo Dragons unique to this area. This is a location not to be missed, Komodo has it all!

Diving Komodo

Almost every little place on Earth seems to be established, discovered, and explored— this applies to both above and below the water level. We have been fortunate to find one of those last untouched places in the heart of Indonesia, right on the doorstep of one of the most exciting dive destinations on our planet.

Wake up to the sun at Kalimaya Dive Resort. Situated facing east, all bungalows have a direct ocean view so that you can wake up to watch the sun rising over the Komodo Island and Gili Banta Island, and fall asleep to the sound of waves lapping on the ocean.
