Padi Digital Underwater Photography Course

Do you own a camera and have been shooting for a while? Perhaps you’re just getting started and you’re unsure which way to go? At Aquatic Imaging Australia we specialise in creating a comfortable experience for first timers or novice photographers who want guidance in their underwater photography journey. Join one of our two days or single day courses to enjoy whole year round underwater photography at your doorstep. Give us a call and we can help you decide what’s best for your needs.

This course is for you if:

  • You are complete novice or would like to make the move from auto to manual mode

  • You want to understand what’s the next step to make your photos pop and take them to the next level

  • You’re looking at adding some lighting to your system

  • You want to create your unique view of the underwater world

  • You’re a certified scuba diver

What will you learn:

  • How to maximise your current setup

  • How to read your environment to get the best possible image

  • Composition and lighting

  • Post-processing

Day 1

  • 8:00 start- meeting at Dive Centre Bondi

  • Classroom

  • Setting up your camera

  • Intro to Manual mode

  • Colour and Light underwater

  • Composition

  • You, your environment and the subjects

  • Practice time

  • Setting up your housing

  • Debrief

Day 2

  • 8:00 start- meeting at the dive site (Summer season meeting at 7:30)

  • Dive 1 & 2

  • Review and debrief

  • Post processing (please make sure to bring a laptop)

What’s included

This course will certify you as a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer. Certification included

Online theory: please allow enough time to complete this prior to the course.

If you don’t own a camera contact us for rental options or guidance in getting your own setup, we have a great selection at our store.

Prerequisites

The minimum age to participate is 12 years old (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old.)

Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent certification from another recognised certification agency.

You must be cleared as medically fit to dive by completing a Medical Statement prior to your course starting. If any questions are flagged as "Yes" you need to gain medical clearance from a doctor. Please ensure you complete this Medical Statement before the start of your course.
